WFC is looking for
full-time permanent AMCC/Early Years Hub Coordinator to work
35 hours per week.

The Administration and Management for Child Care (AMCC) and BC Early Years Professional Development Hub (BC EYPD Hub) Coordinator reports to the Manager, Programs & Services, or delegate, and is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the day-to-day activities and operations for Westcoast AMCC Professional Development offerings and the BC Early Years Professional Development Hub.

Requires a flexible schedule, to include evening and weekend hours.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversees the daytoday program operations:
  • Responsible for recruiting and selecting contracted instructors. o Assigns work and schedules. o Provides feedback to instructors on their performance, including feedback from external parties & organizations in the partnership.
  • Develops and delivers key professional development opportunities for the AMCC Course:
  • Planning, developing, and leading AMCC workshops in consultation with the Director of Programs and the Training team.
  • Hosting and facilitating AMCC professional development events.
  • Developing and coordinating AMCC training calendar; including scheduling geographic locations, facilitators, and dates/times including online sessions.
  • Identifying, developing, and supporting relationships with facilitators to provide relevant and diverse professional development opportunities in communities across BC.
  • Responding to professional development requests and requirements and AMCC Knowledge Base access for communities across BC.
  • Maintains communication with clients, community partners, and funders regarding AMCC Training and Knowledge Base policies and procedures, including an annual work plan, budget, and AMCC Training and Knowledge Base evaluation.
  • Keeps the Director of Programs and Training Team informed of progress towards completion of the annual work plan, compliance with program budget, and feedback regarding AMCC and Knowledge Base Training effectiveness.
  • Provides daytoday financial oversight for matters related to AMCC professional development and Knowledge Base deliverables and activities, working within budget and program priorities.
  • Ensures AMCC courses and presentations, and relevant accompanying resources on topics related to AMCC programming and administration are maintained, updated and delivered, including any technical, content and policy changes.

  • Ensures integration of AMCC Training annual planning with the agency's overall strategic plan.
  • Meets regularly with the Director of Programs and Training Team to discuss the direction of the project and resource needs for service delivery.
  • Provides contracts, training agreements and other documentation for external AMCC facilitators.
  • Coordinates the BC Early Years Professional Development Hub by:
  • Providing non-technical end-user support. o Maintaining open communication with Hub partners about needs, challenges and lessons learned; coordinating monthly (or as needed) meetings between Hub partners, and sharing promotional materials developed by Hub partners.
  • Maintaining communication with website host/developer to troubleshoot issues in functionality.
  • Supporting Discussion Room moderators in ensuring members adhere to the Hub Community Guidelines.
  • Builds effective links with relevant organizations in the child care, child development, family support, and broader social service sector.
  • Represents the program and Westcoast in the child care and broader communities.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
**Skills You Bring: - Current knowledge of child care, child development, and family support issues, trends, and practice.

  • Proven effectiveness and successful experience in organizational, communication, supervisory, and leadership roles with a staff team.
  • Knowledge, skills, and experience in working in a leadership capacity in services related to Westcoast Training content and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the public and maintain positive community relations.
  • Effective English written and oral communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness required as part of a staff team.
  • Competency in languages in addition to English is an asset.
