Position Available:
Research Assistant - Physical Sciences


A temporary full-time, grant-funded Research Assistant position is available immediately, in the Physical Sciences Platform at Sunnybrook Research Institute, to study MRI-guided ultrasound-enhanced drug delivery to the central nervous system.

This research group has a multi-disciplinary team of individuals with backgrounds in physics, engineering, biology, and medicine. The clinical relevance of this work is high, and the pace of research is fast. This is an excellent environment for a motivated individual interested in the field of medical technology and biomedical engineering to gain valuable skills and experience


Responsibilities include:

  • Performing cell culture
  • Participating in preclinical experiments
  • Analyzing research results and preparing reports
  • Maintaining lab inventory of experimental supplies and ordering new supplies

Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree in Science or Engineering
  • Strong experimental skills, and familiarity with laboratory equipment and experiments
  • Highly motivated, detailoriented individual
  • Prior experience with cell culture
  • Prior experience with preclinical experimental work is an asset but is not required
  • Ability to work in a team
The position is an excellent opportunity to develop a broad skill set related to biomedical research.
