Are you looking for a dynamic opportunity that will challenge you? Our Terra Nova Team is looking for a Vessel Operator While the floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel is connected to the mooring system, you will assist with our offshore operations.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years Marine or offshore industry experience including marine cargo handling experience
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum of Bridge Watch certificate
  • Marine Emergency Duties (MED)
  • Rigging and Banksman certification
  • Ability to understand and react with diverse groups and operations
  • Maintain mandatory training and certification for continued offshore work

Responsibilities:


  • Material handling
  • Ensure all equipment and cargo is loaded/offloaded from supply vessels
  • Operate forklift or other lifting appliances
  • Operating Authority within Terra Nova Permit to work for designated vessel systems
  • Field operation
  • Ensure all crude oil offloading activities including connecting operations, degassing, monitoring and strainer cleaning of the metering package are performed safely
  • Support personnel movement by FROG to/from supply boat
  • Team member for helicopter landing operations including refueling
  • Perform routine checks on lifesaving and firefighting equipment to ensure equipment meets regulatory standards and assist with the control of rigging on board
  • Participate as a member of the Emergency Response/Evacuation team, fire team and coxswain for 60person lifeboat

Location and other Key Details:

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is a 21 days on/ 21days off rotation
  • You will work 12hour shifts in a harsh offshore environment on a moving facility
  • Prior to offshore travel, you will satisfy and maintain mandatory industry training standards
  • Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position
  • Pay rate in accordance with Appendix A of the Collective Agreement between Terra Nova Employers' Organization and Unifor Local 212
  • This position will remain open for applicants until May 22, 2023
