Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the foreman and site superintendent: Work under the guidance of senior carpenters to support their tasks and gain hands-on experience. Assist with measuring, cutting, and shaping building materials, as well as assembling and installing structural components.

Material Preparation:

Prepare construction materials by organizing and setting up work areas, gathering necessary tools and equipment, and ensuring the availability of required materials.

Assist with material handling and transportation, including loading and unloading materials as directed.

Construction Site Maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness and organization on construction sites. Keep tools, equipment, and materials in proper order and assist in the setup and teardown of work areas. Adhere to safety protocols and report any hazards or incidents to senior carpenters or supervisors.

Tool Maintenance:
Assist in the cleaning, maintenance, and storage of carpentry tools and equipment. Learn how to properly use and care for hand and power tools to ensure their longevity and optimal functionality.

Blueprint Familiarity:
Familiarize yourself with construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications under the guidance of senior carpenters. Learn to interpret basic information from these documents to assist with the execution of carpentry tasks.

Collaborative Work:
Support the teamwork dynamics on construction sites by assisting other tradespeople and professionals as needed. Foster effective communication and cooperation to ensure smooth workflow and project progress.

Safety Compliance:
Follow safety guidelines and instructions provided by senior carpenters and supervisors. Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance your understanding of safe working practices and mitigate potential risks.

Learning and Development:
Take advantage of opportunities to learn from experienced carpenters and acquire new skills and knowledge in the field. Show enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude toward personal and professional growth.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of carpentry tools and their uses.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and working in various weather conditions.
  • A Vehicle & Valid drivers licence is a must
  • Good communication skills to effectively receive and relay information.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop carpentry skills.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and a willingness to prioritize safety in all tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not always required, as practical experience and onthejob training can also be valuable in this role.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
