We offer construction services in overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations.


Valard Construction LP is seeking a qualified Project Coordinator to join our team of project support staff in our Vaughan Office.


Reporting to Project Management, the Project Coordinator provides support and helps project management to coordinate material and all the logistics and reporting.

Project Coordinator will be under the mentorship of a Project Manager assisting with moving projects forward by maintaining project schedule, cost and strong team communication, contributing to the overall success of the project.

In this position, the Project Coordinator would gain field, construction industry, and project management experience while representing Valard and the assigned project.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Help coordinate staff and resources as guided by the construction manager or site supervisors.
  • Fulfil both technical and administrative needs as required.
  • Planning projects to accomplish goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
  • Scheduling tasks, deadlines and milestones for clients, stakeholders, and resources
  • Managing the project on a daytoday basis including preparing and forwarding project updates and reports to the Manager
  • Coordinating communication between staff and 3rd parties as required
  • Liaising between the field construction staff and design engineers
  • Liaising with third party engineers when needed
  • Reviewing drawings and providing input on any engineering issues to CM's/Supervisors/
  • Supporting the Quality Department with technical engineering support when needed
  • Providing technical engineering expertise on calculations and reporting
  • Interpreting drawings related to the field
  • Tracking and reporting project information by communicating project data in different formats; Reports, Presentations, Visio diagrams
  • Creating, maintaining & constantly looking to improve project processes
  • Create & maintain data systems for inventory
  • Support scheduling, accounting, cost & document control, procurement, project filing & communication with all parties
  • Interface with project construction management teams to establish workflow
  • Sound Knowledge of project documents including schedule, drawings and specifications
  • Create procedures and reporting for the management on site
  • Assist/work outside their position should no work for the position available (no adjustment in wage)
  • Build rapport with all department personnel.
  • Interface with other departments and leads as needed and guided by management.
  • Collect and provide all the necessary documents and information for site management.
  • Ensure that all employee information is kept confidential and secured.
  • Selfstarter and the ability to work in a team environment or independently.

Requirements:


Knowledge & Skills:

  • A degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • 13 years of experience in a project environment
  • Working towards a professional designation (P.Eng., PMP, SCMP)
  • Experience in the construction industry would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and best practices
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning project information and status, financial documents, and employee files.
