    This is a contract position for a Security Architect - Senior for our public sector client.

    7.25 hours/day
    This is a onsite role that requires the candidate to be onsite 5 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

    Responsibilities

    • Provide expertise and leadership in information technology (IT) architecture with focus in Technical (including infrastructure and networks) Application architecture, as well as focus in business and information architecture, along with enterprise architecture frameworks, strategies, and methodologies
    • contribute to and manage the planning, design, delivery, and implementation of architecture solutions related to large scale, complex, multi-year I&IT projects required to meet the critical business requirements of our ministry client(s)
    • help and support with the development of designs and solutions to challenging multi-ministry, enterprise-wide business issues
    • contribute to the definition, evaluation and provide leadership in the development of architecture policies, standards, guidelines, and best practices affecting multi-ministry/cluster initiatives
    • determine the risk of business solutions and propose risk mitigating techniques
    • lead and facilitate the development and use of frameworks to identify, measure and propose mitigating tactics for enterprise-wide technical debts
    • Work with the project team in completing all relevant and required documentation in alignment with OPS standards

    Deliverables:

    • Creation of technical specifications for system(s) development
    • Design, implement and work with the project team in completing all relevant and required architectural and system design documentation
    • Ensure alignment with OPS and OPP I&IT directives, policies, and standards
    • Business architecture, as well as traceability to solution logical and physical architectures
    • Ensure appropriate documentation to support privacy assessments, threat risk assessments, penetration tests and other required security testing and evaluation are as per OPS I&IT standards
    • Create, review, provide input and support of Enterprise Architecture artifacts for all Governance Points as required
    • Review all test scenarios to ensure the requirements are met; establish traceability matrix to monitor output
    • Ensure alignment and adherence to Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery (MPBSD) I&IT governance, standards, workflows, and processes
    • Support the testing team during system, UAT and other testing
    • Create and validate business scenarios and use cases
    • Produce visual depiction of use cases and process flows; ensure alignment with the program area and associated business requirements, objectives and mandate
    • Be prepared for and participate in knowledge transfer
    • Undertake special assignments/sub-projects as assigned
    Qualifications
    1. 5 to 10 years of experience in a Security Architect senior role
    2. experience with I&IT security concepts, programs, frameworks, and methodologies
    3. experience with identity and authentication schemes for internal and external access in high sensitivity environments
    4. experience with various development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps) and security testing frameworks
    5. experience with process design and analysis
    6. experience with public sector governance processes and requirements. Public sector experience with law enforcement is a benefit
