Duties:


The transition to renewable energy sources and the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions are paramount for achieving global sustainability goals.

This research aims to contribute to this transition by focusing on the CO2 methanation process, which converts CO2 into renewable natural gas.

The importance of renewable natural gas in supporting the industry's shift towards net-zero emissions goals will be investigated.

Intent of the process:

This is a position of eight (08) months for a student completing a Ph.
D. This period could be extended for additional four (04) months, as necessary. The intended start date is June 2024.
The work will be in hybrid mode i.e., partly on-site at the Varennes (QC) Research Centre and partly teleworking.

Essential qualifications

  • Master of Science (MSc) or Master of Engineering (MEng), preferably in chemical engineering or other speciality relevant to the duties of the position.
  • Confirmed enrollment in a Chemical Engineering Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.
D.) program at a Canadian University since at least 1 year on February 1st, 202- Ph.
D. thesis topic related to carbon utilization in industrial technologies.

Degree equivalency


The following will be applied / assessed at a later date (essential for the job):
English or French

Information on language requirements

Experiences

  • Experience in process modelling using Aspen simulation platform and I-BIOREF decision support tool.
  • Experience in technoeconomic analysis.

Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a multidisciplinary team.
