What you will do:


Under the supervision of the Manager, Accounting, the Accounts Payable Administrator, in a computerised environment, is responsible for the processing of invoices to suppliers and individuals according to procedures and policies established by TOH under the direction of the Director, Accounting.

The Accounts Payable department is responsible for receiving, processing, verifying, reconciling, and analysing financial accounts payable information for TOH, ensuring all supplier invoices are processed accurately, timely and efficiently to avoid any disruption in patient care, or additional cost to TOH.

The Accounts Payable department processes over 180,000 invoices and 50,000 payments are processed and/or issued annually.

The Administrator assists in the monthly and annual financial statements by ensuring accruals are in the system and payments have been processed and allocated accurately.

The Accounts Payable Administrator will initiate problem-solving tactics, and resolve issues pertaining to accounts payable issues in a timely, professional manner.


Basic Requirements:


  • 2 postsecondary accounting related courses successfully completed within the last 5 years or equivalent experience as defined below. Successful completion is defined as having obtained a grade of 65% or higher.;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable experience in a computerized environment;
  • Understanding of basic accounting terminology and concepts;
  • Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures safeguarding patients' private information and digital data security;
  • Experience using Oracle;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft productivity tools: Outlook, Calendar, Teams;
  • Word (Basic);
  • Excel (Basic);
  • Data Entry;
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and communicate with clients, staff and external agencies in a courteous, effective and expedient manner;
  • Positive attitude towards change and ability to identify and suggest creative new ideas to perform job duties and tasks more efficiently and effectively in a constantly changing environment;
  • Team player;
