Description
We are looking for a

Design Analyst to assist with design-related tasks in projects from preliminary feasibility stages to construction. Working with Project Development and Real Estate Management teams, the incumbent will research, synthesize, and present data to drive and describe various stages of the design process.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of Extendicare's Director, Architectural Services, assist with technical needs of the project development team from early feasibility studies, to concept development and project design, through to completion of design of multiple simultaneous long-term care projects


Duties shall include:

  • Becoming familiar with policies and guidelines of Extendicare's Property Development & Construction department
  • Conducting research on specific sites and compiling reports on feasibility and environmental impact.
  • Preparing plans for early feasibility studies
  • Developing and adjusting test fits including 2D drawings and 3D renderings
  • Developing understanding of Long-Term Care Home Design Manual and OBC
  • Developing and analyzing data pertaining to Zoning and SPA processes in various municipalities
  • Working with design team to prepare room templates and space allocation tables
  • Participating in review of design documentation
  • Performing some administrative tasks as required including but not limited to scheduling, document management, filing, and meeting preparation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a degree in Architecture / Architectural Technology / Design
  • Minimum 3year experience in architecture or design office preferred
  • Experience with Zoning and SPA processes preferred
  • Strong creative and visualization skills
  • Strong Technical drawing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulatory standards is an asset
  • Knowledge of MLTC Design Guidelines is an asset
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
