We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual who wants to make a lasting impact on our organization and Innisfil Fire & Rescue Services In collaboration with the Fire Chief, the Fire & Rescue Business Manager is responsible for supporting the long-term planning of strategic and capital projects and ensuring a high-level of service is provided to our community.

Directly in line with our

Community Strategic Plan:

Innovative Innisfil 2030, you will take a "Future Next" approach in the planning and implementation of the Innisfil Regional Training Centre (RTC) including course selection and the annual calendar.

As a key member of the Fire & Rescue Leadership Team, you will also manage the delivery of the Fire Department Administrative Services Division, and continuous improvement initiatives and will be responsible for:


  • Identifying and developing strategic projects; facilitating shortterm planning and executing business plans, work plans and goal setting processes.
  • Actively assisting the Fire Chief with long term planning for Fire & Rescue Services and putting long term plans into action.
  • Managing the development and maintenance of education delivery ensuring that program practices support the department strategy and objectives, and are consistent with relevant legislation, regulations and corporate and departmental policies.
  • Liaising with and proactively developing relationships with The Office of the Fire Marshal to facilitate the delivery of the Innisfil Regional Training Centre Programs and promoting a regional model.


  • Job Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in Business Administration, Financial management or related. A certificate in Business Operations, Certified Municipal Manager designation would be an asset.
  • A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years related experience in a business manager or relevant managerial or supervisory role. Experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
  • Project Management Professional designation (PMP), municipal leadership and business management certifications, AMCTO Municipal Administration Program (MAP), Lean Certification or equivalent would all be considered assets.
  • A Valid Class 'G' Driver's Licence in good standing and a reliable vehicle to use on corporate business. Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
