About Us


As part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, the Digital Health division provides quality information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers.

Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation, and support health research.

We support healthcare within Newfoundland and Labrador, including patients and communities through the delivery of information technology (IT) and digital health services applied in the healthcare system to provide quality care.

Our mandate includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians.


About the Role

  • Provide guidance and support in various eHealth project implementations.
  • Work with system vendors, business owners and other technical and nontechnical teams for both operational support and eHealth project development and implementations.
  • Develop and maintain support policies and procedures.
  • Analyze technical report outcomes.
  • Provide data quality assurance services and recommendations to improve data quality. Take part in an oncall rotation for afterhours support.

About You

Your education and experience include:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or Diploma in Computer Science or IT related field.

You have the following skills and abilities:

  • Proven experience and skills in effective communication, problem solving, documentation standards and a rigor for change management and quality control.
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships and convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Understanding and experience designing data models to facilitate complex reporting and data extraction requests.
  • Experience with requirements analysis, design, and code reviews; understanding of revision control and experience with unit testing.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL framework including incident, release, and change management protocols.
  • Strong understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and access control measures.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information using sound judgement, diplomacy, and discretion.
It would be an asset if you have the following:

  • Experience with HL7 messaging standards.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data in addition to report writing using SQL.
  • Salesforce experience or certification in salesforce administration or salesforce developer is an asset.
  • Experience with BI reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with various programming languages and software development.
  • Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered. _
