What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Review and edit responses to ensure quality, consistent messaging, tone and relevance of information
  • Develop sound working relationships with staff across the province, as well as in the Deputy Minister's, Assistant Deputy Minister's offices, and external partners in the management and timely resolution of issues
  • Coordinate the preparation and consolidation of reports, briefing/issues notes, correspondence, presentations and other materials in a fastpaced environment
  • Research, compile and organize information on emerging issues and trends and prepare and present findings and summaries
  • Participate/represent the executive assistant on corporate committees, meetings and/or working groups
  • Initiate, plan and carry out special projects and assignments

How do I qualify?:


Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills:


  • You have proven skills to evaluate, understand and interpret issues identified by various internal/external sources
  • You can coordinate a variety of highprofile, sensitive issues/projects, often with conflicting deadlines
  • You have welldeveloped research skills, techniques and methods to research and organize information relating to issues management
  • You can consolidate information and provide timely responses and briefings while dealing with competing project priorities

Communication, Interpersonal and Conflict Resolution Skills:

  • You demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills to develop and coordinate a range of issues materials, explain sensitive issues, and be persuasive with a variety of partners
  • You possess strong proficiency in written and verbal communications
  • You understand diverse viewpoints and can find appropriate approaches to communications issues
  • You can review, prepare, coordinate and edit correspondence, responses, issues notes and briefing notes

Technical Knowledge:


  • You can develop expert knowledge of divisional/ministry policies, programs, mandate, and operations
  • You demonstrate working knowledge of office administrative procedures and practices

Project Management Skills:


  • You can effectively initiate, plan, carry out and track special projects and assignments, and implement approved initiatives
