- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Be the main contact for employees who are unable to attend work
- Ask questions and provide direction to employees calling in regarding sick leave and other leave provisions
- Communicate with supervisors on the status of employees unable to attend work and provide updates on any requirements upon their return to work
- Monitor and track attendance and identify any pattern or excessive absenteeism
- Work with the Disability Management Coordinator to Administer initial claims related to occupational (WorkSafe BC) and non-occupational disability claims (SunLife)
- Administer the site's attendance management program in collaboration with site supervision.
- Support and assist operational departments on the appropriate usage of leave entitlements and benefits administration.
- Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or a relevant combination of schooling and experience
- Experience in a call center or similar environment accepting phone calls, coordinating details and providing direction to customers
- Prior experience in a medical field background is an asset
- Solid understanding of applicable employment, benefits, laws, and legislation – training provided
- Strong digital literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook

Reporting to the Superintendent, Human Resources, the Attendance Coordinator, Human Resources (remote) (known at Teck as Human Resource Coordinator) is responsible for taking calls from employees that are unable to attend work each day and following up directly with them regarding the various sick leave provisions for Fording River Operation. This position operates on a 4 x 10-hour dayshift providing 7 day a week coverage.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, who has strong abilities to find solutions, remain organized, and prioritize competing demands.

Salary Range: $71,000 - $88,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
