Description
Provide data center technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams.

Responsible for providing technical support and/or leadership in the creation and delivery of data center technology solutions designed to meet customers' business needs and, consequently, for understanding customers' businesses.

As trusted advisor create and maintain effective customer relationships so as to insure customer satisfaction. Maintain knowledge of leading edge data center technologies and industry/market domain knowledge.

Actively contribute to the company's solutions portfolio by providing information ranging from technical knowledge to methodologies based on experience gained from customer projects.

Shape technical direction and technical strategies within the organization and for external customers.

Accountable for consistent and significant chargeability levels (or expense relief for internal project teams) and for assisting in meeting or exceeding revenue and customer satisfaction goals.

Contribute to organization's profitability by generating and cultivating new business opportunities and by providing technical support for deal proposal development.


  • Strong technical resource who has experience working within worldclass data centres and methodologies
  • Maintain and support the infrastructure, cabling, installations, decommissions, hardware and software support, audits, inventory, access, and data disposal. Contribute to organization's profitability with the monitoring of all Client account assets within the Data Center facility environments.
  • Individual would help address daytoday processes e.g. Change record approval, Access Requests
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal)
  • Focus on client satisfaction

_ Responsibilities:
_


  • Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with an agreed technical design.
  • Occasionally responsible for providing a detailed technical design for enterprise solutions.
  • Understands a broad spectrum of company technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements.
  • Communicates across client community, and is viewed as adding value.
  • Demonstrates execution of the company strategy.
  • Management of service requests/records for vendor access, hardware installations for adds, changes and movement
  • Lead hardware decommission activities (data and equipment disposal)
  • Management of Vendor Disposal of Assets process of client hardware exiting the Data Center facilities
  • Auditing of client asset and internal client inventory databases for accuracy in accordance with billing
  • Manage Creation/Setup of SM user access requests for Data Center.
  • Participate in Floor Audits of Client hardware

_ Education and Experience Required:
_


  • BA in Computer Science or related area of study
  • 5 years total of professional experience.
  • 3 years of relevant Data Center experience.

_ Knowledge and Skills:
_


  • Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise.
  • Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence.

Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including:
questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing.

  • Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements.
  • Engage with DC leveraging ITIL framework
  • Working knowledge of MS Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point and Adobe
  • Asset management and inventory management skills
  • Time management and problem solving
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Data Center Design/Operational knowledge
  • Data Center Operational Management software knowledge
  • Trade discipline Electrical / Mechanical (nice to have)
  • Cable infrastructure knowledge, disciplines (nice to have)
