WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?

  • Responsible for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspections and reporting
  • Maintain awareness and implement amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations
  • Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, risk assessments, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain the safety program and all documentation required
  • Conduct safety training to ensure compliance
  • Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with leadership
  • Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
  • Act as a member of the Joint Health and Safety committee and coordinating meetings
  • Provide training to managers and others on occupational safety issues
  • All other duties assigned

WHAT DO YOU BRING?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Safety certification training, CRSP is considered a strong asset.
  • Three to five years' experience in occupational health and safety in an industrial establishment.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
