EveryMind Mental Health Services (formerly Peel Children's Centre) is looking for a highly-skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic, full-time early childhood Resource Consultant for their EarlyON program.


_EveryMind _is an accredited child and youth mental health organization that provides a continuum of high-quality mental health services for children, youth and their families who are experiencing or are at risk of experiencing mental health, social, emotional and/or behavioural challenges. _ The EarlyON Child Development Supports Service (CDS)_ is a special need resourcing model providing support to families and staff at all EarlyON locations in Peel.

This includes identifying, planning, and implementing the delivery of resources and supports to provide early identification services to both families and EarlyON staff which will allow:

- families to access general child development information and strategies through informal discussions and/or consultations; and

  • EarlyON staff to access a resource to help guide their responses to families' questions enhancing their ability to connect families to specialized services and to partner with in the planning of inclusive programs.


Reporting to the Supervisor, Clinical Services, the Resource Consultant is a member of the team that has primary responsibility for providing special needs resourcing support to parents\caregivers across Peel Region.


Hiring salary range - $56,635 to $66,255 over 5 years
Please note that hiring salaries are commensurate with experience and generally start at the beginning of the range.

Responsibilities:


The incumbent will:

  • Work in collaboration with service providers to ensure an optimal learning environment for all children through conducting an inclusion scan and providing relevant strategies and recommendations.
  • Accountable for supporting early identification and supporting onward referrals to community partners as necessary for intervention where needed.
  • Building capacity by working with programs, families and communities and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Provide consultation services, learning and development opportunities, mentoring and modeling to increase their capacity to work with children with special needs and to support the healthy development of children attending the programs.
  • Determine the child's strengths and needs by using a variety of developmental and environmental
tools, which will indicate support necessary to encourage progress in all areas of the child's development.

  • Work in partnership with the child, family and staff (as per consent) to review the recommendations and next steps.
  • Develop and facilitate groups and workshops for families and caregivers on topics and themes identified.
  • Maintain uptodate records as per clinical recording guidelines for each child and family consultation is provided to and maintain ongoing progress notes, records of any meetings pertaining to the child and any recommendations made by other professionals involved.
  • Provide supervision to students as required, completing all documentation.
  • Actively participate as part of the multidisciplinary teams at EveryMind, Infant Child Youth and Family (ICYF) Program and PIRS progr
