- Installing, upgrading, repairing, and testing plumbing components, equipment and systems such as sanitary, storm, potable, natural gas, propane, compressed air and sprinkler systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Responding to plumbing and piping emergencies throughout the district facilities.
- Develops manual plans, sketches and drawings for the purpose of job layouts, permit applications, and estimating time and materials required to complete the work.
- Provides technical advice and information to District staff as required.
- Operates a district vehicle and maintains the vehicle's plumbing equipment and materials inventory as necessary.
- Performs other job related duties of comparable importance, difficulty and responsibility as required.
- Two (2) years' experience at a Journeyperson level in commercial or institutional service work, including maintenance, repair and installation of commercial and industrial equipment.
- Thorough knowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures, and equipment applicable to the plumbing trade.
- Ability to organize workload, work under periodic pressure and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent plus a BC or Interprovincial Certificate of Apprenticeship in Plumbing or equivalent apprenticeship training and a BC or Interprovincial Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing (T.Q.);
Interested applicants MUST provide proof of TQ/Red Seal qualifications to be considered.
This is a unionized position that offers a 40-hour work week with an hourly wage of $38.59, plus a comprehensive benefit package including Municipal Pension, health, vacation, and sick benefits.
