Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and monitor contract budgets and schedules, including hourly rate and firm price contracts
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of multiple contractors on site with respect to safety, quality of work, and adherence to applicable codes, standards, design documents and site standards
  • Ensure that Wood Canada Limited and customer health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) programs are implemented and adhered to at all times
  • Proactively work with contractors to ensure project safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives are being achieved
  • Monitor schedule and quantities of work completed, identifying mitigation strategies where required
  • Participate in the turnover process by assembling completion checklists and other construction records
  • Assist the contractors with clarification, interpretation, interference resolution and QA/QC related matters
  • Coordinate with Wood engineering to ensure timely resolutions of Contractor Requests for Information
  • Assist in the review and resolution of QA/QC nonconformance reports (NCRs)
  • Ensure site instructions, drawings and specifications for scope changes are issued/communicated to Contractor in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain communication channels with client, stake holders, and internal Wood personnel to ensure that work flows smoothly and is delivered to customer's expectations
  • Monitor daily construction activities with respect to performance, procedure, quality and providr the Construction Manager with detailed, timely daily reports of all such activities and equipment utilized for these activities
  • Submit weekly progress reports outlining items of concern such as progress delays, safety observations, nonconformance with specifications/ drawings, equipment, weather delays, congestion, workmanship, quality control and potential contract extras

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of multidiscipline construction experience on large scale, heavy industrial projects
  • Trade qualifications with proven experience in construction Civil, Structural & Architectural activities
  • Engineering technologist diploma or graduate degree in related field is considered an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
