- University undergraduate degree with majorconcentration in a community development, social planning, social sciences ORan equivalent combination of other education and relevant experience.
- Five years of experience in the social service fieldwith extensive knowledge and practice in social and community development,administration, and supervisory experience. A demonstrated understanding ofcommunity development as a process for working in complex and politicalenvironments. Experience with outcome measurement, reporting, and municipalpolicy.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices,methods, and procedures used in the development of community based socialplanning and capacity building.

The Opportunity:
This position is responsible for leading the SocialWellness & Integration Supports facilitation team, maximizing opportunitieswithin the community's social infrastructure and leading communitycollaboration to influence positive community change. The Coordinator providesexpert direction in managing department resources, leading integration effortswithin Red Deer's network of social agencies and overseeing community andprogram outcome reporting. The primary areas of responsibilities include CommunitySafety, Emergency Social Services, Housing and Homelessness Efforts, andSubstance-use and Mental Health. Communications, policy development and publicrelations are also key aspects of this position.
