Summary

The Food and Beverage Manager is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior leadership. This position reports to the Director of F&B.

The Food and Beverage Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the restaurant, banquets, lounges and any other F&B outlets along with the Director of F&B.

This role will work closely with the Director of F&B and other departments to ensure seamless service in our outlets creating exceptional experiences for our guests and colleagues.


Duties:


  • Manages the restaurants and lounges while supporting other Food and Beverage outlets
  • Works closely with other hotel departments
  • Responsible for short and long term planning of staffing needs
  • Ensure effective hiring, training, development, promotion and continuous reinforcement
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and colleague satisfaction results
  • Full understanding of colleague engagement
  • Support development and implementation of creative strategies for revenue enhancement and cost containment at the outlets with the Director of F&B
  • Manage within the approved plans for outlets
  • Responsible for maintaining a high energy, positive, professional appearance
  • Plan, coordinate & manage special events and holiday functions
  • Set and follow Health and Safety standards
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Serve as a role model for all colleagues
  • Ability to create and share cost saving tactics and ideas

Qualifications:


  • Requires full flexibility, ability to work weekends, evenings, nights and holidays and a varied schedule
  • Understanding of the local market with the ability to legally work in Canada
  • Must have smart serve and food handler certification
  • A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast paced environment
  • Refined verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, including a working knowledge of point of sale systems
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge
  • Ability to work long shifts while moving between various outlets
  • Beverage knowledge must include wine, spirits and beer
  • Ability to create a refined and innovative bar experience
  • Luxury Hotel or independent upscale bar F&B experience considered an asset
- thorough understanding and compliance with all health and safety regulations

  • 3 years of progressive F&B leadership required
  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, and effective in providing exceptional customer service
