Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist – Freight Brokerage/Non-Asset to support continued growth by prospecting, growing, and managing national and enterprise-level customer accounts across Canada and the United States.
This role is ideal for a professional with direct freight brokerage experience who can drive new business, expand existing accounts, and build long-term client relationships while collaborating closely with internal operations and carrier partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospect, develop, and onboard new national and enterprise-level customer accounts
Grow and manage a portfolio of customer accounts across Canada and the United States
Build long-term client relationships and act as the primary point of contact
Identify new revenue opportunities through new business development and account expansion
Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and service agreements
Collaborate closely with internal operations and carrier teams to ensure service excellence
Monitor market trends, capacity, and pricing to support strategic account decisions
Track performance metrics and maintain accurate records in CRM systems
Qualifications:
1–8 years of direct experience in freight brokerage (required)
Strong background in sales, account management, or business development within logistics or transportation
Solid understanding of freight brokerage operations, pricing strategies, and carrier capacity
Experience managing national or multi-location customer accounts
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
Results-driven, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and sales tools
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary:
$65,000–$75,000 CAD (based on experience)
Commission: 10% of Gross Profit — uncapped
