You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.


How you will contribute
You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks.

With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets.

You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed.

You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

Responsibilities

:


  • Regularly installs subcomponents required for operation (such as conveyer belts) as part of machine set up
  • Inspects candy and makes adjustments to oil, sugar content, steam and related mechanical components (oil nozzles, etc.)
  • Removes undesirable components from candy such as lumpy sugar, burnt starch, deformed candy etc.
  • Transfers empty trays over to conveyer belt and scale. Weigh the tray with the depositing candy. Once tray has reached the required weight, carry full trays to stack on pallets.
  • Cleans all machine subcomponents such as filters, isoflo, etc.
  • Starts/stops and controls components of machine such as the steamer, drum, vibrator, feeder belt etc.
  • Maintains regular communication with mogul operator
  • Assists with major line cleaning
  • Monitors touchpad control box
  • Regularly inspect and check quality of metal detection belts
  • Responsible to continuously clean the area surrounding the work station
  • Knowledge and understanding of SOP's and work instructions
  • Understand, participate and support all safety programs, policies and initiatives within the manufacturing location
  • Responsible for ensuring all products produced meets all GMP and food safety requirements
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge and Skills

  • GMP/Food Safety and HACCP training
  • Lockout training
  • WHMIS
  • Computer literacy and numerical literacy is essential and required, specifically the use of SAP and Quality Suite
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow specific and key protocols, policies, etc.
  • Some mechanical knowledge, familiarly with machine parts, components fixing jamups, cleaning, etc.)
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting, basic maintenance (such as fixing jamups, cleaning, etc.)
  • Problem solving/trouble shooting skills are required
  • Skyjack Certification
  • Ability to follow directions, preset sequences, and steps
  • Specified knowledge regarding the adjustment of oil and sugar.
  • Train as mogul service and/or mogul operator back up for both technologies (Makat's and NID's)

Education

  • High School Diploma

Experience / Skills

  • Experience with using production line type machinery or food processing machinery would be an asset.
  • Good command of written and oral communication in English
  • Effective teamwork and good interpersonal skills
