The Accreditation Specialist assists in the coordination of Accreditation survey activities throughout LHSC; oversees all aspects of the organization's compliance with Accreditation Canada Required Organizational Practices (ROP), Standards, Priority Processes and other requirements as applicable to fulfill requirements to sustain good standing.


The Accreditation Specialist collaborates with the key stakeholders to develop patient safety work plans to ensure compliance with Accreditation Canada Required Organizational Practices (ROP), Standards, Priority Processes and other requirements as applicable.

Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of a undergraduate degree in health care or business administration field, or as acceptable by the hospital
  • Minimum 3 years resent related experiences, perferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital, preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of governmental and other regulatory standards, requirements, and guidelines related to quality improvement and Accreditation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with root cause analysis, cause and effect analysis, and failure mode and effects analyst (FMEA) as applied in healthcare
  • Advanced facilitation, negotiation and change management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of and compliance with confidentiality requirements
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
