Description
Under direct supervision, this position coordinates/manages the sourcing and supplier processes within a plant or local product line.

The role manages sourcing activities for local, non-strategic suppliers, using standard sourcing processes and systems; adheres to and supports strategic supplier agreements, enterprise projects, and other strategic company initiatives at the site level.


Major accountability:

  • Achievement of site savings and cost reduction targets
  • Site supplier metrics consistent with targets: OTD, DPM, COPQ
  • Timely resolution of local Supply issues

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assists in the attainment of GMO direct and indirect savings projects as well as Sourcing actions and NPI gate requirements based on the global NPI process, ensuring overall prices meet or exceed plant savings goals.
  • Coordinates/manages plant suppliers to meet metrics in terms of cost, quality, delivery, service and technical support within the assigned Value Stream
  • Manages the supplier readiness matrix for plant NPI projects and ensures timely task completion, with Category Sourcing support as needed.
  • Supports global/regional Strategic Sourcing projects led by Category Leaders using the Strategic Sourcing crossfunctional Enterprise processes.
  • Provides global Category Sourcing support for Innovation, NPI, KC, and Value Stream GMO savings initiatives where required

Specialized skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Prior purchasing experience and industry knowledge, preferably in FSG major commodity category areas.
  • Good quantitative, analytical, and financial skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and influence.
  • Project a professional image in representing the organization.
  • Languages: English, multiple languages a plus
