  • JOB SUMMARY
  • Responsible for the monitoring of the Dietary Department including training of staff, scheduling, accounting and inventory. Assumes the role of Food Services Manager as required. Actively participates in the multidisciplinary team.


  • EDUCATION

  • Graduation from Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Food Services supervisor's program.
EXPERIENCE- Minimum one (1) year current related experience.

  • Knowledge of kitchen operating procedures and food storage and safekeeping.
  • Safety and fire regulation awareness.
  • Must have a clear understanding of Canada's Food Guide.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS- Must be a member of The Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM).

  • Must have a valid Food Handler's Certificate
  • Must have a good attendance record.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties of this position.
  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate.
SKILLS- Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and residents.
  • High food standards with an interest to upgrade.
  • Good standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Reliable and conscientious.
  • Well organized and acceptable pace to meet time schedules.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and initiative.

Shift Information:

Currently scheduled 24 hours days, can work up to 40 hours per week. May be required to work days, evenings, including weekends.

The incumbent must be willing to travel and work at all 8 Niagara Region long-term care homes for replacement coverage.

This position supports Vacation Coverage for the months of April - October.
