Reporting to the Corporate Controller

Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing

Provide timely processing of Canadian and US payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles.
Give support to staff with general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits and other pay related issues.
Process Biweekly Payroll experience
Comply with current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting
Manage voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary courtordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

Quarterly and Year end payroll reporting

Oversee quarterly and yearend payroll reports.
Manage regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger
Wellfounded grasp of Yearend Payroll
Ad hoc assignments and duties as required

Skills:

A college or university Degree specializing in accounting, finance, economics, or business
A Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working towards a designation.
Proven knowledge of payroll taxes
Strong familiarity with payroll for over 1000 employees
Reconcile Payroll experience highly desired
Quality experience with Microsoft Excel
Ability to work with mínimal supervision and to interact at all organizational levels
General familiarity with T
Practical knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce and/or ADP is an asset.
Benefits payroll experience desired
Background in HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets
2 years of progressive experience in a payroll administrator role
