We are currently looking for a Project Quality Coordinator to join our QHSE team.
As the Quality Leader of a project, your main roles will be to coordinate quality operations to ensure that the manufacturing of hydro components/equipment meets Andritz' high quality standards, to ensure good coordination with the project team and to manage the Quality interacts with the customer.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the implementation of the Quality Management System in projects
- Analyze customer requirements (specifications) for quality control & insurance
- Design and develop project specific quality strategy and plan
- Participate in the design and the followup to the inspection and testing plans (ITP)
- Collaborate with the purchasing team to select, evaluate and qualify suppliers
- Coordinate both internal and customer validations of technical documents (e.g. EIP, welding procedures, NDT, etc.....)
- Coordinate customer inspections, reporting points and shutdowns
- Manage project quality records
- Coordinate noncompliance reports and monitor the implementation of the necessary corrective or preventive actions
- Conduct indepth analyses on critical nonconformity (8D
- Root Cause Analysis)
- Actively collaborate in customer meetings, kickoffs, followups and closings
- Participate in design reviews
- Participate in preproduction reviews of critical parts with suppliers
- Perform internal audits (Quality/Continuous Improvement) and assist in customer audits
- Support the development of quality control and quality assurance tools and processes
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent education;
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance;
- Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, CWB, ASME or other standards an asset
- Knowledge of standard inspection tools (Vernier, micrometer, etc.)
- Knowledge of automated measurement methods (FARO/laser tracker/CMM, etc.) is an asset
- Good knowledge of mechanical drawing reading
- Good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Effective communication skills (focused on internal and external clients)
- Data analysis skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Fully mobile and available to travel within Canada and abroad.

- English and French
- Excellent work ethic;
- Training or knowledge in Health and Safety and general hydro site work is an asset.
- Legal status to work in Canada is required.
