Pipeline Inspection Field Technician Trainee

Company Profile:

Entegra Pipeline Solutions Ltd specializes in the in-line inspection of oil, gas, and chemical pipelines.

We have designed and manufactured proprietary self-contained electromechanical machines that travel down the inside of oil and gas pipelines to proactively inspect for internal and external corrosion or other damage.


Opportunity Type:
Full time, Regular

This position requires extensive travel throughout Canada, also some travel to the US should be expected. This position reports to the Operations Supervisor. The home base for this position is Leduc, AB.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Ensure safety is put first in the execution of all tasks and processes.
  • Follow standard procedures to assemble and prepare in line inspection tools and support equipment.
  • Assist in the execution of pipeline inspection projects both tethered and freeswimming.
  • Safely Drive and Operate a wireline truck for tethered ILI projects.
  • Drive company pickup trucks in Canada and USA.
  • Refurbish, repair, and maintain pipeline inspection tools after the completion of projects
  • Operate forklifts as required _
  • Training will be provided_
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:


  • Must be at least 18 years old, Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Class 3 driver's license with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain Class 3 driver's license.
  • Oil and Gas experience preferred.
  • Ability to use mechanical drawings and procedures to rebuild mechanical assemblies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Ability to work alone or in a team depending on the job requirements
  • Ability and drive to progress through Tool Operator Levels described in ASNT Personnel Qualifications and Certifications for In-Line Inspection Technologies
  • Flexible, reliable, and conscientious approach to work
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress and balance multiple priorities while working to tight deadlines
  • Good organizational skills
  • Comfortability with a fieldbased role and the travel involved

Additional Requirements:


  • Proof of valid Canadian driving license (class 3 or 5) with clean driving record.
  • Current safety tickets: H2S Alive, Standard First Aid & CPR
  • Ability to work long hours, including early morning start and/or late evening finish
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 25kg
  • Ability to wear a respirator (this would require being clean shaven as needed)
  • Ability to work under extreme weather conditions
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time within Western Canada. Ability to travel internationally to the USA may be required.
