The Department of Consumer Protection and Government Services is looking to fill two positions.

One Vacancy as Administrative Officer with Strategy and Agreements Branch and; one vacancy as Executive Office Manager with the Agreement Management Unit.

Reporting to Senior Management, the incumbent(s) is responsible for providing coordination support and confidential services to the Branch team.


Capital Project Planning and Delivery (CPPD), a division within Manitoba Consumer Protection and Government Services, develops and maintains a multi-year overarching capital infrastructure plan; delivers and manages departments' capital projects according to the approved capital infrastructure plan; manages the negotiation of bilateral capital funding agreements and partnerships; and implements and oversees the use of innovative project delivery and project financing methodologies.


The Strategy and Agreement Branch is within CPPD and is made up of four units: Agreement Management, Strategic Initiatives and Alternative Delivery, Financial Services and Strategic Projects and Programs Support.

The Agreement Management Unit manages and implements bilateral agreements between the Government of Canada and the Province of Manitoba for the delivery of federal-provincial cost-shared capital infrastructure programs, including the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

In program implementation, the Agreement Management Unit engages and collaborates with other levels of government and third party proponents throughout Manitoba.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Postsecondary education in Business Administration, Office Administration or Public Administration. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Experience providing confidential administrative support to senior and executive management such as; managing multiple inboxes, calendars, scheduling meetings and preparing meeting material.
  • Experience conducting research, drafting, proofreading, compiling pertinent information and recommending course of action where appropriate.
  • Experience providing financial administration such as quarterly cash flows, forecasting and budgeting of operational expenses and salaries, financial projections and financial reporting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent written comunication skills with the ability to write a variety of documents, memos, reports.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) and Adobe Professional.
  • Experience working with and managing complex filing and information tracking systems in both physical and electronic formats.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.

Desired:

  • Experience with timekeeping and/or accounting software and financial transactions.

Duties:


_Administrative Officer__:

Key position functions includes: coordination and management of the financial operations of the branch including Estimates, Cash-Flows, salaries, operating, revenue, recoveries, human resource administration, communications, record keeping practices for the office in adherence with government records management principles and policies.

The Administrative Officer also oversees meeting and venue arrangements, travel arrangements, electronic and paper records keeping, fleet vehicle contracts and administration, and employee expense accounts.
