As part of their duties, under the supervision of the Director of Continuing Education and Partnerships, the incumbent will be responsible for managing the internships of LaSalle College programs.

In collaboration with the program manager and student coordinator, the incumbent will ensure the placement, monitoring, and communication with students, teachers, and internship supervisors, particularly for Human Techniques programs.

They will also manage agreements and students in the context of workplace learning and in certain programs. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in the daily activities of the Employment, Partnerships, and Continuing Education Service.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main responsibilities will be:


  • Supporting students in developing their tools for internship preparation and workplace learning periods (CV, cover letter, interview simulation, workshop on workplace learning search strategies, etc.) in collaboration with teachers and program coordination;
  • Contacting and following up with potential internship and workplace learning environments and maintaining privileged relationships with our current partners and developing new placement partnership agreements;
  • Establishing good matches between students and internship or workplace learning environments;
  • Managing admission tests for selected program students;
  • Managing internship agreements for all relevant college programs;
  • Supporting and mentoring students throughout the internship placement process and during internships or workplace learning periods, analyzing causes of difficulties;
  • Managing student attendance or absence in workplaces;
  • Supporting and mentoring internship supervisors throughout the internship and in difficult situations;
  • Producing and updating documentation related to internships and workplace learning, in English and French;
  • Communicating and following up with program teachers, program management, and team leaders regarding student success in internships and workplace learning;
  • Keeping the client and partner database up to date on CRM and Sales Navigator;
  • Participating in budget monitoring and annual evaluation reports for the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for students enrolled in workplace learning programs;
  • Ensuring followup related to travel expenses and other expenses related to workplace learning and internship periods;
  • Assisting in the planning and organization of events and activities of the Employment, Partnerships, and Continuing Education Service (fairs, collective information meetings, open house days, networking evenings, career days, and other activities);
  • Collaborating on other Employment and Continuing Education Service projects (workstudy alternation, Portfolios website, Service Quebec partnership);
  • Participating in the promotion of certain programs to prospective students and potential new workplace environments;
  • Any other related tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Hold at least a DEC (college diploma);
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience related to the job description.
This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and partners nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Understanding of the community, education, and/or health sector;
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written;
  • Knowledge of Office suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of CLARA pedagogy software (an asset);
  • Understanding of college teaching issues (an asset).
