An exciting opportunity exists for you to be part of the team that works with the Employee and Legal Services Department and its stakeholders to optimize HR business processes and deliver HR technology solutions that effectively and efficiently provide service and support to the City of Edmonton's workforce.

  • Planning and Solution Delivery_
  • Develop functional specifications for reports, forms, interfaces, modifications and data conversions
  • Oversee the configuration, testing, quality assurance and implementation of new releases, modules and functionality
  • Work with other stakeholders to design, develop, and test system integrations. Develop and maintain configuration documentation
  • Create integrated solutions to solve complex requirements, specializing in the delivery of costeffective and current technology solutions
  • Contribute to, or lead parts of planning activities by providing knowledge of business trends, technology trends, vendor roadmaps/planned activities and identifying /helping to identify the impacts of change to the business and technology within their area of specialty
  • Investigate operational requirements, problems, and opportunities. Completes and documents gap and/or root cause analyses
  • Recommend solutions and action plans which include effective business solutions through improvements in automated and nonautomated components of new or changed processes or practices
  • Plan, prepare and execute functional and system testing and manage issue resolution; develop test cases as required. Facilitate user acceptance testing with business areas and validate test results
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Post Implementation Sustainment_
  • Respond promptly to incidents, service requests, and service interruptions with HR systems by utilizing an indepth understanding of the system functionality, process flows, dependencies, and known problems
  • Assist business teams with continuous improvement initiatives around their business processes by identifying, evaluating and recommending business process options and improvements. Work with other stakeholders to design, develop, and test system integrations
  • Work with internal stakeholders, leaders, and service providers to review system software roadmaps and updates to identify and recommend the specific releases, features/functionalities available that merit action based on product owner direction and/or business needs
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Systems, Human Resources, Finance, or an acceptable related field
  • Four (4) years of related experience, which includes 1 year of experience in an ERP environment.
  • Formal certification in the area of specialization is desirable. A combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Familiarity or experience working with Sodales is considered an asset
  • Experience working in a safety environment is considered an asset
  • Analytical, problemsolving, organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and manage conflicting priorities with mínimal direction
  • Interpersonal skills with outstanding customer service, with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing large change initiatives and knowledge of change management and communication practices is considered an asset
