The Manager, Culture Programs is responsible for the design, execution and management of key Culture Programs across the enterprise that aligns with our Brand Purpose and Values.

As a member of the team, the primary focus of the Manager, Culture Programs is to manage the development, execution and day to day operations of all employee culture programs across the organization including Service Recognition, High 5, Seasonal Gift Box and CTC's Hybrid Work Model.

This is a 12-month interim contract position, reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Culture & Organizational Effectiveness.


At Canadian Tire we work flexibility embracing 'Hybrid' whereby individuals utilize a combination of working at a CTC campus and or virtually in service of outcomes.

Determined by managers, decisions around work location will be made based on business and team needs and grounded in a desire to support individual well-being and personal needs.

What you'll do

  • Develop plans, policies and processes, ensuring the employee culture programs are simple to understand and easy to administer and partner with Leaders to identify people issues and program design challenges.
  • Ensure employee awareness and maximize participation by planning and executing annual communication plans, reviewing program design and market trends regularly and gathering employee input to ensure programs are valued across the enterprise.
  • Develop a framework to determine the measures of success for employee culture programs, and based on findings, develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with external vendors and manage the relationship to ensure that the organization is receiving maximum value and that expectations are being met.
  • Develop and lead cross functional Committees (e.g., Seasonal Gift Box, Workplace of the Future and Hybrid Work Model) to gather requirements, create awareness and obtain buy in across the enterprise
  • Research industry developments and innovative solutions that align with our Brand Purpose and Values to enhance the employee experience and provide a compelling attraction and retention offer to employees.
  • Working closing with Real Estate, lead change management, communication and learning activities for the Workplace of the Future program i.e., campus enhancements, hybrid work model, space booking
  • Develop a framework for measuring success in our Hybrid Work Model; Monitor and evolve our approach as needed

What you bring
years of experience in Human Resources, Change Management and/or Communications

  • Demonstrated experience with thought leadership and implementation of creative ideas that drive business results
  • Demonstrated experience in managing HR projects, executing new programs or initiatives, and managing vendors
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Robust communication skills, with experience developing and executing change and communication plans
  • Ability to plan and prioritize multiple activities and deliverables
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
