This position is in Cargill's protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Operations Trainer position will assist and execute all training processes within a department, ensuring areas of responsibilities meet company standards for safety, and quality, performance.
Assist in execution of training for assigned area and ensure trainings are following policies and procedures related to employee safety and food safety.
Coordinate and lead the training program for hourly production new hires, provide oversight to the plant hourly trainers and oversee the new hire orientation and job specific training through the new hire probationary period.
Maintain adherence to company safety standards and reinforce good manufacturing practices.Ensure employee and product safety at all times by completing full training according to task procedures and individual needs.
Work closely with the hourly trainers on the floor, to ensure training compliance is adhered to.
Mentor production workers and participate in the training process and also monitor employee compliance, performance and engagement, highlight training gaps and needs for assigned area.
Identify training gap and recommend areas of improvement and innovation.Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to your supervisor.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma/Certificate or bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Previous experience as team leader in a production environment or shown ability in a skilled operative position with the willingness to undertake further qualification if required
Develop and deliver training that conveys a clear understanding of the unique needs of diverse audiences
Training experience in large facilities including production
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada Preferred Qualifications
Technical writing and strong communications skills
Manufacturing production environment experience
SAP knowledge
Experience with video software
