About the Opportunity:
This role provides psychiatric service to the acute psychiatric inpatient unit working in a collaborative team as well as functioning in a co-leadership role with the inpatient manager.
Our inpatient and community outpatient is an interdisciplinary team which consist of social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, recreation therapists, and psychologists.
Our service also supports rural satellite clinics for mental health and addictions, seniors mental health, community outreach teams, clozapine, and depot clinics, consult services for adults with neurodevelopmental disorders, consultation with medical units and emergency departments and full Child and Adolescent Clinical Services.
This is a cohesive team with members from diverse backgrounds dedicated to providing quality care.Responsibilities:
Provide psychiatric lead on the inpatient unit. Will engage with inpatient manager in a co-lead role. To participate in the on call psychiatry schedule.
Contribute to and participate in teaching programs and activities.
Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Expected Hours:
Full Time
On call requirement 1:5
Qualifications:
Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
Eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
