**Description: - Permanent Full Time- We are looking for a
_Underwriting Analyst._

  • As a member of the Underwriting Analyst team in Winnipeg, the Underwriting Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Preparing Refund and Large Non Refund renewal rate reviews for Group Underwriters by using excel based analysis tools and producing reports from various systems
  • Providing a full range of client financial reporting services. This includes the accurate and timely completion of client financial reports for Refund, ASO and Reinsurance Financial Reports.

What you will do

  • Assisting the Underwriters in the preparation of:
  • Refund and Large Non-Refund renewal rate reviews. This involves preparing an experience analysis on all benefits by compiling prior claims experience and evaluating the implication of benefit plan changes and auditing information from various systems (BEN, E&C, TSO/TOCS). Determine the appropriate set up of the renewal analysis and assist in the creation of the renewal package to deliver to the Group Sales Office.
  • In the preparation of new business prospects (quotations) as directed by the Underwriter, the Underwriting Analyst will prepare and run the claims experience analysis by interpreting the claims from the prior carrier which have been provided. Benefit rates will be prepared and evaluated.
  • Run/validate manual rates
  • Prepare various financial statements / reports for policyholders and reinsurers
  • Prepare monthly / quarterly experience reports for clients and or Advisors.
  • Timely handling and responding to clients (Underwriters, Group Office or leadership) inquiries / requests for ad hoc reports
  • Other general or department wide tasks as assigned

What you will bring

  • Education/skills acquired at postsecondary level or equivalent, or a combination of education and work experience.
  • Extensive and proven knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of MS Access is an asset
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Understanding and knowledge of group products is an asset
  • The base salary for this position is between
    $39,200 minimum*:
  • $58,800 maximum** annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
