The Planner will be responsible for gathering input from customers and sales to generate a forecast for the wholesale channel of the business.
The forecast will be an input to the S&OP process and needs to be aligned with Sales estimates. This role will be expected to publish forecast accuracy and developed strategy to improve mix-error for the assigned channel.
The Planner will oversee the replenishment of finished goods between Manufacturing Plants and/or third-party vendors and the Distribution Centers, ensuring a balanced supply of products and inventory levels.
They will model the ASSA ABLOY values and behaviors to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
a) Responsible for consolidating sales forecasts as an input to the PSI (Production, Sales, and Inventory) and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes.
c) Collaborate with customers to ensure their demand plan is accurate and service levels are being met.
d) Communicate changes in external customer mix and inventory requirements for customer stores/DC.
e) Manages the NPI process for Make To Stock (MTS) items and serves as Supply Chain contact for all NPI process.
g) Work with customer service, DC's, sales and marketing to monitor orders and to ensure timely fulfillment and targeted service level is achieved.
h) Collaborate and work closely with groups throughout the organization including Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Financial Management to forecast dollars and units and balance customer service requirements, production capabilities and financial inventory investment.
i) Drive process improvements and performance against demand planning KPI's.
j) Lead demand review and consensus meetings while establishing accountability for the demand plan with Sales and Marketing.
k) Ensure forecasts are in place and represent all demand for all products with the latest market intelligence in the 12- and 24-month horizon.
l) Communicate key assumption changes & other KPI's as required through monthly S&OP cycles.
m) Ensure abnormal demand and market opportunities are effectively communicated and understood through the supply network.
n) Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
a) Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Business Administration
b) Post-Secondary diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field or relevant professional designation
c) Minimum 5 years' experience in a Demand Planning / Supply Planning /Forecasting role (CPG background preferred)
d) APICS CPIM/CSCP certification or Partial completion
Required Qualifications
e) 3-4 years of experience in statistical forecasting & Knowledge of advanced planning tools such as JDA/IBP is a must
f) Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred)
g) Ability to manage a high number of SKUs and significant dollar volume.
a) Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and act with a strong sense of urgency.
b) Advanced Statistical analysis experience
c) Strong analytical, decision and problem-solving skills.
d) Advanced MS Excel analytical and Power Point presentation skills, including pivot tables and experience with very large data set.
e) Proven success in a team environment
f) Ability to coordinate & collaborate cross functionally within the organization.
g) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
h) Internal & external customer-facing experience is a minimum.
Preferred Qualifications
a) Post-Secondary diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field or relevant professional designation
b) Supply chain experience in a Retail/Wholesale / E-Comm/Traditional retail industry
