Position Title:
Health and Safety Supervisor


Position Type:
Full time


Your role at Prism will include:

  • Overseeing safety compliance: monitor and make sure that all construction activities adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Team management: supervise and support a team of Construction Safety Officers and First Aid Attendants, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Incident management: investigate and report any workplace incidents or accidents promptly, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Training and education: conduct safety training programs for employees and if needed other stake holders, raising awareness of potential hazards, and promoting safety practices.
  • Risk assessment: perform regular site inspections to identify potential safety risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Safety policy development: collaborate with management to develop and update safety policies and procedures to align with topnotch industry standards.
  • Emergency preparedness: develop and execute emergency response plans, ensuring all personnel are familiar with protocols.
  • Reporting and documentation: maintain accurate records of all documents including but not limited to safety incidents, inspections, and training sessions.
  • Safety audits: conduct internal audits to assess compliance with safety standards, identifying areas for improvement, and when required, coordinate and manage any external audit with WorkSafeBC.
  • Promote safety culture: inspire and cultivate a strong safety culture among team members, trades, and all stakeholders.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.
  • You have excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to motive a team effectively.
  • You have experience in overseeing health and safety protocols within the construction industry.
  • You possess indepth knowledge of construction safety regulations including WorkSafeBC guidelines.
  • You have strong problem solving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • You are experienced in incident investigation and risk assessment.
  • You are proactive and detail oriented with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
  • You can work collaboratively and independently promoting safety at all levels of the organization.
  • You have a valid CSO certificate or equivalent.
  • You have Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification or higher.
  • You have the following health and safety certifications:
  • Fall protection
  • Confined space
  • WHMIS
  • Elevated work platform training
  • Fit testing
