Janssen Inc is recruiting for a Strategic Alliances Lead, located in Toronto. This is an exciting change leader role within the Evidence Generation Centre at Janssen.

This dynamic leader will directly support the Director, Evidence Generation Centre in shaping Janssen's Evidence Generation strategy through cultivation of strategic alliances with private and public sector stakeholders driven by business needs.


This leader will manage a portfolio of Real World Evidence (RWE) focused partnerships including those with health technology/healthcare delivery systems, data provider organizations, and/or analytic platforms.

The Lead, Strategic Alliances will also assist in the evaluation of potential new partners in emerging areas such as telemedicine, personalized health and data to support healthcare disparity research.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape Janssen's Real World Evidence (RWE) strategy utilizing insights that demonstrate deep customer understanding and driven by Janssen business and policy priorities
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with RWE data and technology stakeholders, academic institutions, hospital and public administrators, research consortiums (building the business case, relationship management, external negotiation, contracting strategy and terms, and structure of the alliance during implementation)
  • Support operational, contracting, relationship management, and governance needs of new and existing RWE alliances at Janssen
  • Partner with Finance, Legal and Health Care Compliance colleagues to ensure compliance to regulatory, legal and commercial regulations for data and service activities across RWE alliances
  • Connect with RWE Methods and Operations leads as well as therapeutic area and business unit heads (including Market Access and Regulatory Affairs) to ensure alignment of partnership to key business strategies, future needs, evidence or policy gaps. Consult with these partners to finalize project plans, milestones and deliverables
  • Identify and implement internal/external partner best practices regarding RWE Alliance data acquisition and analytic support
  • Effectively communicate and train internal Janssen/J&J partners on data and analytic capabilities and operational efficiencies of existing or potential RWE Alliance Partners
  • The Lead, Strategic Alliances will represent Janssen at key events and conferences with a focus on deepening engagements to build networks, opportunities, and secure strategic partnerships
  • Work in tandem with internal and external operational teams to deliver on outputs defined by the partnership
  • Accountable for the oversight and knowledge management of Janssen's strategic partnerships including tracking and executing deliverables per the partnership agreements, managing project budgets
  • Partner with J&J global data science, epidemiology, Real World Value and Excellence organizations and locally with Data & Analytics and Patient Value Innovation Centres

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline such as sciences, biostatistics, engineering, epidemiology, health economics, public health, health services research, health administration or operations research

Experience And Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 8 or more years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry (e.g. policy, market access, RWEetc.) or in a healthcare environment (e.g. hospital, government, healthcare technology etc.)

Preferred:

  • Experience across multiple research settings (e.g., pharmaceutical, academia, and/or consulting) and various types of data (e.g., administrative claims, electronic health/medical record, hospital billing)
  • Experience directly managing relationships (external or internal) in a partnership model

Other:

  • Organizational tact and diplomacy; possesses superb interpersonal skills required to develop close relationships with external partners and key influencers with demonstrated external presentation skills
  • Advanced understanding of healthcare trends, ecosystems, health policies
  • Ability to thrive in an innovative and creative culture in a growth focused organization
  • Excellent project management experience in a complex and changing environment with multiple competing projects
  • Demonstrated ability to build internal and external collaborations and finding solutions benefiting all parties with a focus on both short
- and long-term results

  • Action oriented with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment
  • A knowledge of some therapeutic areas concerned would be an asset
