Started in 2006, we have successfully established 3 market leading brands (Caledon Farms, Crumps Naturals AND Dog Delights) distributed throughout Canada and the United States.

The Crump Group Inc., a large & rapidly growing pet food manufacturer based in Mississauga Ontario and Nashville North Carolina is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented
Category Development Manager.



Role scope:

Leverage data and category trends to assess new and existing geographic markets and create actionable insights.

Use informed data to develop where to play/how to win playbooks that will be foundational to our long-term growth plans.

Support sales meetings including new business intros and JBP's. Push beyond the local Canadian market to influence international market entry and leading-edge innovation.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop a category management strategy and related gotomarket activities.
  • Evolve the shelf strategy for the pet treats category.
  • Be the expert on our competitive set and current and future category drivers.
  • Partner with sales on annual planning and customer presentations including categorybased selling and planogram recommendations.
  • Partner with marketing to develop gotomarket strategy and portfolio differentiation for the U.S. market.
  • Scope new international markets including research on competitors, pricing, and go to market execution.

Required Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships and rapport.
  • Category management.
  • Sales and shelving fundamentals (AMPS/DPSM).
  • Customer experience or account management.
  • Strong analytical experience converting data insights into action.
  • Experience with storytelling with data.
  • Experience with market research / market assessment an asset.
  • Experience in fast moving consumer goods an asset.
  • Leadership in crossfunctional teams an asset.

You have

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, especially PowerPoint
  • 35 years' relevant experience within the CPG is beneficial.
  • Hardworking
  • Willing to learn and move up through the company.
  • Experience building and presenting customer presentations.
