The Opportunity


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Finance, the Manager, Commercial Finance is responsible for the financial stewardship of the Sales organization supporting Canopy Growth's Canadian Cannabis business unit.

The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting the business including, but not limited to, Pricing and Margin of Products, Customer/Portfolio Profitability, and Financial Planning & Budgeting of Canada Commercial departments.


Responsibilities:


  • Foster strong crossfunctional relationships with Sales, New Product Development, Trade Marketing, and Accounting to ensure an integrated approach to trade spend management
  • Provide analytical support, including business case modelling, for the Sales teams to enable profitable and sound decision making with respect to financial and market impacts
  • Enhance and maintain tools and processes to support the Revenue and Margin Tracking
  • Oversee pricing processes ensuring timely processing, robust reporting, and appropriate documentation of price adjustments and their associated impacts including, but not limited to, inventory buydowns (customer price protection), trade deductions, listing fees, and promotions
  • Prepare periodic reporting materials to drive key business decisions and financial reviews with Canadian Cannabis leadership and Sales leadership
  • Business partner and Financial Steward to the Sales teams on key financial metrics ensuring alignment to strategic priorities such as Margin, Net Revenue, cost of goods sold, trade spend updates for key customers, variance analysis relative to forecast, and P&L bookings by channel/customer
  • Proactively identify system and process improvements related to trade spend and investment
  • Adhoc projects and tasks based on the needs of the business
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience- Undergraduate degree in business with a focus on Accounting and/or Finance- Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA) or MBA preferred- 5+ years of progressive Accounting or Finance experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability resolve conflicts and distil complex financial information into actionable insights with internal and external stakeholders- Ability to prioritize and execute a number of initiatives at the same time.

- Previous experience in Trade Finance or Sales Finance is an asset- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with multiple financial systems (experience with any of Sage X3, BPC, Anaplan an asset)

This is a full-time remote-first role based out of Kanata/Ottawa or Toronto, Ontario.
