    Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma from a recognized, post-secondary institution.
  • Member in good standing or eligible for membership with British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Food Safe Certificate

    • About The Role

    As a Licensed Practical Nurse at our Kelowna communities in Baptist Housing, you'll embrace a person-centred approach to care, contributing to comprehensive care planning and evaluating service delivery. Adhering to the highest standards of practice and ethics outlined by the BCCNM, your role will involve a diverse range of nursing interventions, from assessments to medication administration. You'll collaborate closely with Registered Nurses (RNs) for complex cases and consultations and, under the guidance of managers and RNs, implement wellness programs, fostering a positive environment for both teams and residents. You will also maintain meticulous resident charting and information using advanced systems like Point-Click Care and EMAR, ensuring accurate reporting of acute resident information to our RNs. As an ambassador of Baptist Housing, you'll model our ministry values and demonstrate servant leadership by prioritizing the needs of others and maintaining positive relationships with residents, team members, families, and partners. Located along the beautiful shores of Okanagan Lake, in the heart of stunning Okanagan Valley, Kelowna is an inviting community in which to live and work. Our three communities are Village at Sun Pointe, Mill Creek Village and Smith Creek Village.

    About You

    You are a dedicated LPN whose approach to care is defined by compassion and empathy. Your ability to connect with residents on a personal level goes beyond fulfilling your duties; it's a heartfelt commitment to exceeding their needs. Your communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to convey instructions clearly and maintain a sense of calm in challenging situations. Your resilience shines through in complex and stressful moments, demonstrating adaptability and organizational prowess in adjusting care strategies as needed. Residents feel valued and heard in your presence, thanks to your attentive listening and genuine care. Your medical knowledge encompasses not only the normal aging process but also the complexities of altered cognitive function and age-related diseases, allowing you to tailor care strategies accordingly. You possess a deep understanding of medication administration protocols, standard precaution techniques, outbreak management, and pain management strategies, among other essential elements of healthcare delivery. Your collaborative nature has earned you the respect of your colleagues, who see you as a valuable team member. You bring a sense of humor and a fun-loving spirit to the care environment, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.

    Compensation and Benefits

    The Master Collective Compensation detailed in the Provincial BC Nurses Collective Agreement encompasses competitive vacation allowances along with extended health and dental benefits, a municipal pension plan, an employee and family assistance program, and opportunities for professional development. Level 3 LPNs are compensated at an hourly rate ranging from $31.89-$40.15.

    *Relocation assistance is available for successful out of town applicants
