Job Title:
National Account Director


Purpose:

Kärcher North America is a leading manufacturer of commercial and industrial floor maintenance equipment and pressure washers as well as brands that promote national repair service and parts distribution.

The incumbent in this position provides oversight and direction for sales primarily in the Retail market, but also, due to the nature of the business, the Building Service Contractor market.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meets annual sales plan for assigned markets.
  • Conducts professional presentations to groups and individuals.
  • Works with local and regional brand Sales Managers to plan and coordinate sales efforts.
  • Recommends and implements targeted marketing and promotion programs while actively participating in the planning and evaluation process with Marketing Management to develop effective promotion activities within an assigned market.
  • Participates in the New Product Development program with Engineering and Marketing groups involved in product improvement.
  • Operates within assigned expense budget.
  • Works with local and regional brand Sales Managers to plan and coordinate sales efforts.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
***Reports to the Director of Sales BSC and Retail.


QUALIFICATIONS
***
Education
Bachelor's degree preferred OR equivalent combination of experience and education.


Experience


Minimum five (5) years of successful sales experience preferably in the cleaning industry or base knowledge of the cleaning equipment market.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to work with little direct supervision;
  • Has skill in customized selling of the value of cleaning products utilizing a library of programs, services, capabilities, and existing presentations that provide the prospects and customers with a clear understanding of the sustainable value;
  • Possesses strong competitive product knowledge and understanding of the commercial and industrial floor cleaning products, pressure washers, and service repair industries;
  • Is willing and able to travel as required.

Language Skills

  • Possesses effective communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Makes frequent presentations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
***Works at a desk using the computer.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
***Typical office environment; frequent travel.
