The Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Team is responsible for improving Asset Management practices throughout the City of Edmonton.

This group provides the oversight and strategic guidance required to enable the City to align its stakeholders throughout the Asset Management lifecycle, ensuring that the City's long-term visions are supported and able to be achieved through day-to-day operational actions.

This unit is critical to the long term sustainability, cohesiveness, and modernization of EAM practices at the City by addressing the following 5 areas for improvement:

With a focus on our Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent in this dynamic work environment, the EAM Project Management Analyst will:

  • Championing Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Take the lead in evaluating and analyzing initiatives, plans, and recently implemented policies related to Asset Management and corporate business planning, providing substantiated recommendations based on these assessments.
  • Provide research and analytical assistance for special initiatives, creating charts, graphs, and textual presentations of collected data and summarized using standardized tools and methods.
  • Play a proactive role in designing, implementing, and continuously improving asset management processes and practices.
  • Adherence to all relevant policies, directives, guidelines, and processes.
  • Implement and Lead EAM Initiatives
  • Plan, develop and implement various EAM initiatives
  • Define the initiative goals, objectives and planned deliverables
  • Manage, monitor and report on progress of initiatives through detailed plans and schedules, ensuring the initiative is on budget, on schedule, and within the defined scope and quality
  • Document all initiative activities in accordance with project management methodology, City policies, processes and procedures, as well as regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Support Program Lead to implement EAM change initiatives including developing governance models, policies, and procedures
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage relationships while coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders and resources, including team members and representatives from other areas for the initiative
  • Work independently and use significant judgement as lead of initiatives
  • Monitor transformative initiatives through frequent and ongoing interaction with all levels of leaders in the department
  • Collaborate with the Communications staff to develop and implement an overall communication plan for assigned initiatives or programs, where required

Qualifications:


  • A Degree in a related field, such as Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or Asset Management
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a combination of: strategic and operational business planning, working with corporate performance measures and budgets, policy development and leadership and project management experience
  • Proven experience in leading Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence projects is required.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and an understanding of the relationship between strategic business planning, performance measures is required
  • Ability to build strategic networks and partnerships with internal stakeholders is required
  • Experience with asset management in a public sector environment would be beneficial along with leadership and project management experience
  • Experience using SAP, M5, Tririga, Meridian, Google Suite, Oracle, or Microsoft Access is preferred
  • Certification assets: Lean Six Sigma, PROSCI, or equivalents is preferred
  • Knowledge of enterprise systems, data governance and management
  • Demonstrated experience working in and leading multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of corporate initiatives
  • Proven planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • General understanding of strategic and business planning principles, policy development and benchmarking procedures for alignment of performance measures
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills with experience in solving complex and sensitive issues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation, report writing and presenting
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to develop strong relationships and work in a collaborative, integrated manner
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions of an advanced nature and ability to express complex ideas and concepts effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in written format
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to translate thinking to actio
