  • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
  • The Corporate & Investor Relations (CIR) department is the corporate face and voice to BCI's internal and external audiences. CIR functions as the primary interface with our clients and strives to internally represent their specific interests and unique needs. CIR works closely with governing fiduciaries and trustees and, working with our BCI colleagues, assists clients with developing their investment strategies, policies and objectives.
  • CIR also develops and implements communication strategies for client, internal and external audiences; for example, working closely with our asset classes on matters relating to transaction and investment communication. The team manages media relations and engages with government and industry partners and stakeholders.
  • Please note that this is a 12month fixed term position.
  • BCI relies on CIR to be accountable for:
  • Supporting stakeholder satisfaction and client retention
  • Influencing clients' investment policy decisions
  • Advocating and representing clients' and other stakeholders' interests
  • Leading corporate messaging and acting as its spokesperson
  • Managing BCI's brand and reputation
  • POSITION DESCRIPTION
  • Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Planning and Projects, the Associate, Strategic Planning and Projects (CSE), will be the primary source of project delivery and support for Corporate Stakeholder Engagement branch, and its' team specific projects and initiatives. This role will provide input into the identification and planning of CSE projects, providing support, coaching, direct project participation, facilitation and onboarding of project resources, or a combination thereof to facilitate world class project delivery for Corporate Stakeholder Engagement.
  • This role will also support the continuous improvement of CIR's project delivery, as well as build capacity, knowledge, and expertise within the branch and department by supporting the development of consistent tools and approaches, as well as providing ongoing basic project management coaching and support for the branch and department.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must Have:
  • Undergraduate degree in business, or related field-
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a related function or similar role-
  • Experience with project management methodology (e.g. PMBOK) and software (e.g., Smartsheets, JIRA, etc.)-
  • Ability to facilitate, develop, and support the implementation of business plans-
  • Experience drafting business cases, specifically articulating compelling project benefit statements and estimating project costs and timelines-
  • Demonstrated experience with business process improvement and documentation efforts
  • Preferred:
  • Professional project management designation (CAPM, PMP, or similar)-
  • Smartsheet Certification or demonstrated experience-
  • Experience with data visualisation software (e.g., PowerBI)
  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic and Business Planning
  • Support the planning, implementation, and communication of departmental business strategies and business plans
  • Support the planning, delivery, and reporting for CIR's corporate business plan responsibilities
  • Coordinate the delivery of regular (e.g. annual) branch and team level strategic and business planning activities
  • Lead the regular updating, maintenance, and reporting for the CIR strategic dashboard
  • Projects and Portfolio Management
  • Manage, support, and/or participate in branchwide and team specific project work
  • Support the formation of CSE projects, including drafting and/or reviewing required project governance documentations, participate in vendor and/or contractor evaluation process
  • Support temporary resource procurement for dept. projects, initiatives, and adhoc requirements
  • Lead, manage, or participate, depending on the nature of the project, in the execution of the project plan and ensure the scope, budget, deliverables, and other project criteria are fulfilled in line with the business owner's interest during project execution
  • Facilitate the documentation of endtoend business processes and assess, prioritize, recommend, and support the implementation of improvement opportunities
  • Provide project management coaching and support to department staff as required
  • Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of reports, briefs and presentations for the department VPs' and team leads on an ad hoc basis
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Support the Manager, Strategic Projects and Planning with departmental and branch level budgeting in temporary or acting capacity as required
  • Provide adhoc support of crossbusiness platforms such as Meltwater, MailChimp, Bynder, etc. e.g. monitor ongoing business requirements vs. current tools, drive user adoption, assist with procurement, contract negotiation and service level agreements, etc.
