Managed Solutions Consultant


What is the Opportunity?


The Managed Solutions Consultant plays a critical role in supporting and assisting in driving growth for the sales field (Advisor, Associates and Branches) with general information regarding all Managed Solutions Group (MSG) fee-based programs for RBC Dominion Securities.

You will be the primary source for incoming Investment Advisor and Associate questions and concerns and will be required to cross-train on all other products.

You will also collaborate with various organizational groups internally and externally to ensure relationships are established and maintained to protect and grow the fee based programs.


What will you do?
Product Support (70%)

  • Providing timely responses to inquiries (within 24 hours)
  • On a daily basis, manage and ensure the field is notified regarding any violations again PC USA PFIC and trading rules
  • On a daily basis, manage and ensure appropriate investments are correctly classified from a fee billing perspective
  • Escalate any issues to ensure resolution to the Associate Program Management team
  • Coordinate educational phone calls on MSG programs as well as quarterly presentations at new Investment Advisor and Associate training seminars
  • Provide Adhoc reports
Application Support (30%)


Authorities, Impact, Risk:

  • Scope of responsibilities is primarily with RBC Dominion Securities, RBC DS Global (Caribbean Branches) supporting the Fee based business (approximately $300B) and RBC PC USA Dominion Securities (approximately $7B)
  • Authorities to approve fee and account minimum exceptions within general program guidelines
  • Risks with exception authority include revenue leakage
  • Responsible for increasing sales and client retention through product expansion, effective management and awareness
  • Relationship management responsibilities

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to VP and Head, SMA and UMA Platforms and Strategy, RBC Dominion Securities

Must Have

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC)

Nice to Have

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong selfdirected team player with a bias for action and ability to have strategic influencing, negotiating and persuasion skills
  • Ability to assertively express ideas, needs and requests and build group consensus, i.e. "sells" ideas to those outside of direct reporting relationship

  • Organizational awareness
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and changing professional environment
  • Willingness to aggressively learn new skills/products in a short timeframe
