Summary of responsibilities:

The Manager of Adult Mental Health & Addiction Services provides leadership, supervision, and direction for the Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services (incl. problem gambling, supportive housing, Back on Track, and the St Denis Centre) of CCH.

Working with the Supervisor CAMHS and CCH Facilities, the Manager has oversight of the 16-bed residential facility (St Denis) ensuring health & safety standards, emergency preparedness, and building maintenance plans are implemented and maintained.

The Manager is responsible for monitoring the budget of the programs and is directly accountable for clinical and administrative supervision of all clinical staff in the programs.

The Manager is accountable for the quality of services and for ensuring the programs operate within a best practice approach.

The Manager is required to participate in local, regional, and provincial committees, including Ontario Health initiatives that promote mental health & addiction supports within the community.


Requirements of the job:


  • Master's Degree (MSW, Master's Prepared Therapist, other related Health care discipline)
  • Registration with a College that is authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy
  • Minimum 5 years' extensive clinical experience in the treatment of Addiction, Mental Health and Concurrent Disorders.
  • Completed 30 hours of directed learning in providing clinical supervision.
  • Familiarity with key legislation and salient publications such as the Ontario Mental Health Act, Roadmap to Wellness, Moving on Mental Health.
  • Familiarity with Health Quality Ontario Quality Standards related to the treatment of addiction, mental illness & concurrent disorders.
  • Knowledge of the issues affecting individuals, families, caregivers and communities (e.g., poverty, unemployment, stigma, isolation).
  • Demonstrated clinical and administrative leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the needs of persons with addiction, mental health and concurrent disorders living in the community.
  • Knowledge of community services and the ability to foster effective service linkages and partnerships.
  • Ability to hire, train, supervise and retain qualified staff.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work with agencies, hospitals and the broader community.
  • Ability to prioritize needs and organize work efficiently.
  • Knowledge of information management and evaluation activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and relevant electronic medical records system.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation on a regular basis.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Asset:

  • Functional level in oral French
  • Previous supervisory/management experience of an interprofessional team in a unionized environment
