Summary and Overview

  • Student will be working with the Central Support Services Ops Coordinator, as well as the individual IPAC Managers of the longterm care homes. The student will be assisting with the workload of our department related to frontline staff maskfit testing at our 8 longterm care homes/Public Health Offices across the Niagara Region and administrative duties at Headquarters.
  • A consistent communication focus across all sites as outlined in both the Seniors Services Strategic Directions and the Seniors Services Operational Plan
  • Central Support Services work will include (but is not limited to):
  • Mask-fit testing
  • Project assistance
  • Administrative duties
  • Problem solving
  • Reviewing reports and metrics

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current enrollment in an approved postsecondary institution Business Program


  • Excellent computer skills

  • MS office, internet searches
  • Planning, analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Independent worker
  • Able to communicate in a professional manner (oral and written)
  • Able to meet deadlines
  • Able to prioritize work assignments from management staff
  • Project Management experience
  • Website navigation skills
  • Facilitation skills in focus groups and workshops

Special Conditions

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required for this coop placement
  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, this position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Records Check and submit a Canadian Police Clearance Certificate including a Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • The incumbent will need to provide proof of a negative 2Step Tuberculosis Test or a Chest X-Ray

Shift Information:

Currently scheduled 35 hours per week working 8:30am to 4:30pm.

The primary work location is Headquarters - Campbell East however the successful incumbent may be required to travel to the Niagara Region's 8 Long-Term Care Homes across the Region.

This is a 4-month Co-op Placement for the May 2024 term.
