About You:
As a QA Specialist you will play a primary role in planning and executing on Quality and Testing for the Server Team.
This is a great opportunity for a highly passionate person who has hands-on QA expertise, ability to take initiative and develop and evolve QA processes.
You Will:
- Participate in design and proactively contribute to the product's feature development
- Create and manage test cases, define and execute acceptance / functional test plans
- Catalogue, track and verify issues submitted internally and via customers' reports
- Assist development staff in tracking and maintaining current defects
- Communicate with developers and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure the proper implementation of features
- Continuously report on deficiencies and testing progress
- Act as escalated support for nonconformance issues
You Have:
- Good understanding of high level server architecture
- Genuine interest in troubleshooting and resolving complex softwarerelated issues
- A good understanding of QA processes and a keen interest in pursuing a QA career
- Experience and proficiency working with, configuring and troubleshooting Android or iOS mobile devices (ideally both)
- The ability to write clear and complete product documentation
- A passion for ensuring software quality
- An ability to work with a team and independently with little guidance
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
You May Also Have:
- Experience in a quality assurance engineering role
- Experience working in an agile software environment
- Experience using Issue & Project Tracking software such as JIRA
- Familiarity with the Avenza Maps app, GDAL library
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Heroku, Linode environments
- Experience with the Shopify ecommerce platform
- Experience with Algolia search
- Experience testing the integration with various payment systems (Apple's App Store, Google's Play Store, PayPal)
- Experience writing and / or running automated software scripts
- Skills in researching and implementing new testing technologies
- Familiarity with online data portals and data access protocols (WMS, WFS, Google / Bing / Open Street Map, MapBox TileMill)
- Experience working with Adobe Creative Suite products, specifically Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
