What you'll do:


You're a perfect fit for the role of Restaurant Host if you welcome the challenge of being part of a team that elevates the dining experience for customers.

You are excellent at providing warm, genuine customer service to both guests and your fellow associates in all departments.


The responsibilities of this position include:

  • To meet, greet and seat guests in Olio, providing a guest experience that is consistent with Sheraton standards.
  • To provide service to all Olio/lounge guests according to Sheraton standards.
  • To maintain daytoday operations of Olio/lounge.
  • To be familiar with all food and beverage menus, specials and promotions in the Olio/lounge, in order to assist the guest and promote the items.
  • To greet and provide service to our guests in an efficient, friendly and professional manner.
  • To check the outlet(s) for proper setup upon arrival.
  • To check Squirrel machines to ensure that they are working and setup properly.
  • To fill out a seating floor plan by checking server section rotation chart; assign sidework schedule on the floor plan; post floor plan at the host/hostess stand.
  • To seat guests following a rotation of server sections, providing guests with meal menus.
  • To take reservations for Olio, both in person and over the telephone
  • To coordinate functions, including setup, timing of food and beverage deliveries.
  • To promote the use of all Hotel facilities and special promotions.
  • To adhere to local liquor and health, safety and fire procedures and laws.
  • To make recommendations for improvement to either product or service in Olio/Lounge.
  • To assist servers in the operation of the outlet(s), including: setting up tables / organized functions, bussing, side duties, polish silverware, et al.
  • To participate in the daily preshift meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • A minimum of one year's related experience.
  • Host/hostess outlet experience an asset.
  • Graduate from a community college/university hospitality program preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of local health and liquor laws an asset.
  • Smart Serve Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Squirrel preferred.
  • High school graduation diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be available to work evenings plus weekends

Salary:
$20.31-$20.81 per hour
