Strategy Analyst:


Job location:

This position can be located in our office in Ottawa, Canada, where the expectation is to work 3 days a week in the office, or in Toronto, Canada where the position would be remote.


About the team:


As a member of the Office of Strategy reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Performance Measurement, the Strategy Analyst will play a critical role in providing objective internal and external analysis to support strategic decision making and operational execution.

This position contributes to and supports the strategic planning process by delivering key insights to enable more informed decisions, address key challenges, and identify new opportunities for growth.


What you will do:


  • Deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategic decision making by leveraging partnerships across the organization, internal information systems and external research
  • Proactively partner with stakeholders across the organization on the analysis and suggest insights from industry trends, market positioning, competitive environment, and business environment.
  • Support the development of strategic planning models and frameworks to help weigh the relative value between strategic alternatives and test against company targets and internal capacity.
  • Independently analyze, inspect, and report on key internal business processes to identify improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate ongoing business performance against targets to support operations
  • Manage and continuously improve management reporting processes, including balanced scorecard reporting

What we are looking for:


  • 34 years of relevant work experience, with experience in corporate strategy, analysis and research preferred
  • Degree in business, finance, supply chain management or equivalent
  • Exceptional analytical capability with experience in supporting strategic planning and decision making, building business cases, and management reporting
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of business strategy
  • Proven experience to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and translate into concise and informative insights
  • Experience with strategic planning models and framework
  • Independent research skills, selfmotivation, and resourceful problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with confidence and credibility at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced Excel skills and aptitude for using databases and business information systems
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using BI tools such as Power BI
  • Supply chain expertise and experience in a SaaS business model is an asset
